Dailymotion is extremely popular in Europe, serving up over a million videos per day. Despite this success, the company is looking to rebrand themselves and find an identity among a now bourgeoning sea of video sites. They asked us to create concepts that define the future of Dailymotion and provide them with a conservative redesign and rebranding.
Unfortunately, our designs were severely limited: we were asked to not change the sizes of any images or ads on the site, not move the ads, and not change the size of the videos. In addition to a streamlined, redesigned site delivered as a fully-interactive site as wireframes and photoshop templates, we gave Dailymotion two future concepts and a set of wireframes that contains more progressive features.
One of our concepts was recently implemented by YouTube: the ability to link to and share particular time periods of a video.
Until Dailymotion implements our designs, you can compare the designs below to the
current version of their site.
